Holly Carpenter, Program Manager
Holly started at The Growing Experience in 2015 to assist with various grant programs and field operations. In 2016, Holly was promoted to Program Manager where she now oversees all administrative operations, maintains the social media accounts, coordinates events, develops and implements educational programs, and manages grant-funded projects.
Manuel Cisneros, Field Lead
Manuel started as a trainee in the landscaping program at The Growing Experience while he was a resident at Carmelitos in the late 1990’s. Upon graduation from the program, he was brought on as a full-time staff member to lead workshops and eventually support the expansion of The Growing Experience to the farm it is today. Manuel oversees all field operations, crop production, preparation of produce for the Community Supported Agriculture (CSA) program, farm stand and special orders, supervision of volunteers, maintenance of the community garden and farm grounds, and all other field-related tasks.
Adan Cisneros, Field Staff
Adan volunteered for many years with The Growing Experience before being hired on full-time in 2016. Adan is a certified Master Gardener and a wealth of hands-on knowledge. Along with a wide range of duties related to crop production, Adan is responsible for the daily operations of our vertical tower aquaponics system, and is learning about beekeeping. Adan particularly enjoys sharing fun facts about the farm while giving tours to visitors.
Yancy Comins, Program Coordinator
Yancy began working at The Growing Experience to help lead the farm's Micro-Enterprise program , Club Y.C.M.E. (Young Creatives Micro- Enterprise) in which he helped youth in the community develop a small business utilizing the farm as a product source. Yancy is now working on our CSA expansion program through a grant with the USDA.
